Concerning what you hear on television I have to say most of words and sentences that the viewers say is informal that means they may say sentences without give any attention to grammer, by the way, American english don't knw English grammer when they speak hehe , they just say it randomly

By the way, the difference between |thanks|and | thank you| is that we can use thanks between friends " close friends" but thank you is formal form I mean when you meet sm1 for the 1st time
